Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
1.1 "Cookies" are small text files that are placed on your device — your computer, smartphone, or tablet — when you visit a website. They are widely used across the internet to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences and choices, and to provide information to website operators about how their sites are used. Cookies can contain a variety of data, but they cannot execute code, carry viruses, or access files on your device.
1.2 Cookies are typically characterised in two ways. By duration: a "session cookie" exists only for the duration of your browser session and is deleted when you close your browser, whereas a "persistent cookie" remains on your device for a defined period of time even after you close your browser, until it expires or is manually deleted. By origin: a "first-party cookie" is set by the website you are directly visiting, whereas a "third-party cookie" is set by a different domain — typically an analytics provider, advertising network, or embedded service — whose code is loaded as part of the page you are visiting.
1.3 In addition to cookies, some websites use other browser storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These are not technically cookies — they do not follow the same transmission mechanism and cannot be sent to a server with HTTP requests — but they serve a similar function in storing information in your browser. Where RepSave uses localStorage, this is described explicitly in this policy.
2. Cookies and Storage We Use
2.1 RepSave uses a minimal and transparent approach to browser storage. We do not set any cookie or storage item on your device by merely loading a page on repsave.co.uk, with the exception of the consent preference storage item described below.
Consent preference storage (always set)
2.2 When you visit repsave.co.uk for the first time, a consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page. Once you make a choice, your preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage under the key "repsave_consent" as a JSON object recording your individual category choices and a timestamp. This is a functional storage item, not a tracking cookie. It serves a single purpose: to record your consent decisions so that the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits.
2.3 The repsave_consent localStorage entry does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data about you. It is not accessible by any third party. You can delete this entry at any time manually via your browser's developer tools, as described in section 4 below.
Analytics cookies (consent required)
2.4 We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — Measurement ID: G-48SY8Q7LQJ — on repsave.co.uk. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you enable the Analytics category, either by clicking "Accept All" on the banner or by enabling Analytics in the preference modal. If you do not consent, no GA4 cookies are set.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors to the site by assigning a randomly generated identifier. Used to calculate visitor counts, session data, and campaign attribution for site analytics. The identifier is not linked to any personally identifiable information. | 2 years |
| _ga_48SY8Q7LQJ | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains and persists session state for the RepSave GA4 measurement ID (G-48SY8Q7LQJ). Used to determine session duration and number of sessions per user. | 2 years |
2.5 When analytics cookies are active, GA4 collects: pages visited, time spent on each page, browser type and version, operating system, device type, approximate geographic location (country and city — not precise location), referral source, and session engagement metrics. This data is retained by Google for a maximum of 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
2.6 GA4 anonymises IP addresses before storage. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Performance cookies
2.7 Performance measurement tools are not yet active on repsave.co.uk. When introduced, this section will be updated with full details before any such cookies are set.
Marketing cookies (consent required)
2.8 We use the Meta Pixel (Pixel ID: 968512179305344) on repsave.co.uk to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to help us reach people who may be interested in RepSave. Marketing cookies are only loaded after you enable the Marketing category, either by clicking "Accept All" on the banner or by enabling Marketing in the preference modal. If you do not consent, no Meta cookies are set.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Used by Meta to identify browsers for the purposes of providing advertising services, including real-time bidding from third-party advertisers. | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Stores the last click attribution for Facebook ads. Set when a user arrives on the site via a Facebook ad click. | 90 days |
2.9 Meta Pixel data may be transferred to Meta's servers in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. For more information, see Meta's Privacy Policy.
3. What We Do Not Do With Cookies
3.1 Even where we use the cookies described in section 2, the following practices do not occur on repsave.co.uk:
- No cookies are set by mere page load without consent — all analytics and marketing cookies are only activated after you have made an explicit choice via the consent banner or preference modal.
- No automatic advertising network cookies — we do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies on this site independently of our disclosed tools.
- No cross-site profiling for sale — we do not allow any third party to use this website to build a behavioural profile of you for the purpose of selling that profile or targeting you on unrelated websites.
- No social media auto-cookies — social media widgets that automatically set cookies when a page loads are not embedded on this site. The Meta Pixel we use is loaded only with your explicit marketing consent and is subject to the disclosures in section 2.
- No undisclosed cookies — we do not set any cookie or browser storage item that is not described in this policy. Stripe and Tally cookies are only set when you actively navigate to a checkout or onboarding form flow, not by visiting repsave.co.uk in general.
- No undisclosed cookies — if you discover an undisclosed cookie on this site, please report it to us at hello@repsave.co.uk.
3.2 We review our cookie usage periodically. If our practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before activating any new cookies.
4. How to Manage Your Consent
4.1 When you first visit repsave.co.uk, a consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page. You have two options:
- Accept All — enables all active cookie categories (analytics and marketing). All relevant scripts are activated immediately.
- Manage Preferences — opens the preference modal, where you can enable or disable each non-essential category individually before saving your choice.
4.2 Inside the preference modal you will find four rows: Necessary (always on), Analytics, Performance (coming soon — locked off), and Marketing. Each active non-essential row has a toggle. You can click "Reject All" to disable all non-essential categories, or "Save Preferences" to confirm your individual choices.
4.3 Your choices are stored in localStorage under the key repsave_consent as a JSON object. The banner will not reappear until you clear your browser's local storage or delete the entry manually.
4.4 To update your preferences at any time, use the preference centre below on this page. You can also delete your repsave_consent entry via your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → repsave.co.uk → delete the repsave_consent entry → reload), which will cause the consent banner to reappear.
4.5 Alternatively, email us at hello@repsave.co.uk and we will be happy to help you withdraw consent or answer any questions about how we use cookies.
5. Browser Controls
5.1 All major web browsers provide built-in tools that allow you to view, manage, block, and delete cookies independently of any individual website's consent mechanism. Using your browser's built-in controls to block cookies from a specific domain or to delete all cookies will take effect regardless of the consent preference stored in our localStorage. The following browser-specific instructions apply:
- Google Chrome: Open Settings → click "Privacy and security" in the left-hand menu → select "Cookies and other site data". From here you can see all cookies stored by your browser, block cookies from specific sites, or clear all cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Open Settings → click "Privacy & Security" in the left-hand menu → scroll to "Cookies and Site Data". You can manage site-specific exceptions, clear stored cookies, and block third-party cookies from this panel.
- Apple Safari: Open Settings → click "Privacy" in the top navigation bar → click "Manage Website Data" to view and remove cookies stored by individual websites. You can also enable "Block all cookies" to prevent any cookies from being set.
- Microsoft Edge: Open Settings → click "Cookies and site permissions" in the left-hand menu → select "Cookies and data stored". From here you can manage cookie exceptions, view stored cookies by site, and clear all cookies and site data.
5.2 Please note that blocking or deleting all cookies may affect the functionality of other websites you use, particularly those that rely on cookies for login sessions or preference storage. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse repsave.co.uk or access any of its content — the site functions fully without analytics cookies enabled.
5.3 If you wish to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data across all websites you visit — not just repsave.co.uk — you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This add-on instructs the GA4 JavaScript library not to transmit data to Google for any website that uses it.
6. Impact of Declining or Disabling Analytics Cookies
6.1 Declining analytics cookies via the consent banner, or blocking them via your browser settings, has no effect on your ability to use repsave.co.uk. Every page on the site, including all content and navigation, is fully accessible without any analytics cookies being set. There are no features of repsave.co.uk that are gated behind cookie consent, and declining analytics cookies will not cause any error messages, degraded functionality, or restricted content.
6.2 The sole consequence of declining or disabling analytics cookies is that RepSave will not collect anonymised data about how you navigated the site during your visit. This data is used by RepSave only for internal purposes — understanding which pages are most visited, where visitors come from, and how they engage with content — in order to improve the site. No personal profiling, advertising targeting, or third-party data sharing occurs as a result of analytics cookie acceptance or decline.
6.3 This Cookie Policy was last updated on 23 May 2026. If you have any questions about how RepSave uses cookies or other browser storage technologies, please contact us at hello@repsave.co.uk.
